Comments on Latest CQC Report
We would like to share with you all as valued patients of Fitzalan Medical Group the very disappointing news that the practice remains in special measures following a further inspection from the Care Quality Commission.
The visit followed our original review in December last year and the report that was published in March this year.
As a practice team we are incredibly disappointed at the review, but we are committed to the care we are providing to you as our patients, and we can assure you that both of our surgeries remain open.
We are very sorry for any concern caused to you all – either from the report or the media coverage – but we are committed to improving the way we work as a practice and to getting Fitzalan Medical Group out of special measures.
We recognise we can’t do this alone, and we are now working with our GP Federation – Innovations in Primary Care – who have significant expertise in supporting GP practices in our area.
They will work with us to improve the way we work, how we engage and support with our patients, and how we can progress the action plan to address the areas identified by the CQC.
Some of this is about time and resources, and by working with IPC we are confident we can make improvements at pace to continue to provide the care we want for you all as our patients.
