What is eConsult?
eConsult is an online triage system that enables patients to have better access to healthcare, and enables GPs to conduct consultations more efficiently, freeing up valuable face to face appointments for those who need them.
What are the benefits?
With eConsult, patients can check their symptoms anytime, anywhere, and receive on the spot medical advice and treatment guidance (courtesy of NHS Choices). This can be in the middle of the night or during the day at their work desk.
The online consultation form 'red flags' any time-critical or serious medical symptoms so patients can quickly seek out the urgent care and attention they need, without compromising their health waiting for a face to face appointment.
How do I access eConsult?
You will be able to access the system from the home page of this website, just underneath the information banner.
How does it work and when will I hear back?
You complete the online consultation form and submit - this is sent to a secure NHSMail account in the practice and processed by the administration team. You will receive a call back by the end of the next working day, from either reception or a GP, whatever is appropriate for your concern.
Will a GP review the consultation form?
Yes - all submitted eConsults will be reviewed by a GP, unless the request is for administrative services.
Can I use eConsult for my children?
No, eConsult is only available to those aged 18 and above.
